" Conflicts Between Teachers and Students "

Conflicts between teachers and students is a common issue today’s society. Students and teachers find themselves arguing in class because they both don’t agree on everything. Teachers are sometimes rude to students, so it’s only a student’s reaction to respond in their defense. Teachers need to learn how to speak to students in a way where they would listen. Others feel that the culture of disrespect is centered around student’s attitude towards teachers.

I think students and teachers can bridge the gap in communication and reduce conflicts by being respectful to one another. If teachers show some type of love and affection then maybe the students wouldn’t disrespect their teachers. If students stop being rebellious then teachers would be able to help the student. It goes both ways for the students as well as the teachers - both parties play a part in the conflict with each other.

What are the effective ways of dealing with conflict? How do you resolve conflict and keep both parties happy?

I believe that in order to avoid conflict, you should just walk away. If a teacher is arguing with or disrespecting a student, that student should take it directly to the principal and let him/her handle the teacher.

An effective way to deal with conflicts between a teacher and a student is for both parties to listen and understand where the other person is coming from. In my opinion people should always listen before trying to rush in and give advice.I think a good way to resolve conflict between the two is for teachers to aviod any negative confrontation with students.

Sometimes teachers go a little to far. Case and point America, last year as a final my AP US Hist teacher gave us a worksheet to work on for a grade. No big deal. We DCPS students all have those lazy type of teachers from time to time. So as a part of the worksheet he gave us a map to color in (really elementary). So during lunch I was looking at this girl's map to see how she colored hers. This sub saw me and taught I was cheatin and snitched. So when I walked into class he took my paper threw on the floor and picked it up and then tore up my worksheet. I was heated because it took me forever to find crayons to color it. So then he called me a cheater and a hypocrite and told me to get out or else. So I asked him what was else, and then some sleeves got rolled up and...lets just say it was bout to be some furniture moving up in there.

I truly agree with Shaquita on that one. I believe that in order to avoid conflict just way away from it know matter how hard it is just walk away. If the teacher is being disrespectful or arguing with a student you should go tell your techer know matter you wanna do to the teacher just walk away from it and tell the principal and let them handle it.
